Cairn Grove Bed & Breakfast Sign

Approached along a drive through an avenue of Cherry Trees the house built of local limestone appears as if it is well pleased to be positioned within its own acre of grove on the valley side over looking Fenny Bentley village.

We are in the foothills of the Peak District and Staffordshire Moorlands, in truth the very beginnings of the Pennine Chain.

As you approach from the South and reach Asbourne (known as the Gateway to Dovedale) the terrain changes dramatically from rolling pasture land with hedged fields supporting dairy and crop farming to hills, valleys, outcrops and stone walled fields supporting sheep and dairy farming.

As you enter this delightful house black granite steps take you in to a spacious hall with a garden room on your right hand side where you are able to sit, read, drink or just view the garden and bird watch – notable regular visitors Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Tits, Chaffinch, Tree Sparrow, Flycatcher and many more.

It is worth noting, on the porch floor, locally quarried fossilised limestone inlaid with the black granite.
